Kadınlar tarafından cinsel birleşmenin ardından, bir gebelik önleme yöntemi kullanılmadığında gebe kalmamak için alınan hap. "Ertesi gün" hapı olarak da bilinir. Hap gebe kalma olasılığını azaltır ancak %100 güvenilir değildir. Kadın acil doğum kontrol hapını cinsel birleşmeden sonra mümkün olduğunca erken, en geç ise 3 gün içinde almalıdır. Acil doğum kontrol hapı bir gebelik önleme yöntemi değildir.

Emergency contraceptive pill

Pill taken by a woman after sexual intercourse when she did not use contraception and does not want to get pregnant. Also called "morning-after" pill. The pill reduces the risk of getting pregnant but is not 100% reliable. The woman needs to take the emergency contraceptive pill as soon as possible after sex, at most 3 days later. The emergency contraceptive pill is not a method of contraception.
