Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) of the urethra (in men), in the vagina (in women), in the throat or anus (in all sexes). Not everyone have symptoms. The most common symptom is yellow-green discharge from the penis or vagina, severe pain when urinating and itching, a burning sensation and discharge from the anus. Using a condom when having sex protects against the infection. Gonorrhea is caused by bacteria and can be cured with antibiotics.
