Candida

Infection in the vagina, caused by a fungus. The acidity balance that protects the vagina against the fungus is disturbed. Candida causes a white vaginal discharge, itching and redness. Candida can be cured with medicines, a cream or a vaginal pessary (a kind of tablet which dissolves in the vagina). Candida is not a sexually transmitted infection (STI).
